Bug report: Using "B" as Drive Letter prevents indexing of files on that drive

Apologies if this is the wrong place to submit a bug report.

Windows 7 RTM was refusing to index the search on one of my folders, even after rebuilding the index several times.  What's more is that even though the indexing was not working, the computer was acting as if everything was normal, and simply reporting back 'null'
for all searches on that drive.
In other words, set the drive to index, no search results turn up.  Turn indexing off, and search works normally (albeit slowly).  After a few days of befuddlement, I finally realized that indexing was not working on that HDD
because I had set the drive letter to B:

Only after solving the matter was I then was able to find it through a search and see that it  had been

brought up earlier with respect to Vista, and that it was deemed a "feature" not a bug.

I don't really have any fault with Microsoft's design decision, although it seems to me that floppies are fairly well deprecated by now and there should be full functionality available on the "B" letter.  The problem is that the Management Console fails to
mention anywhere that changing to B would render search non-functional, and Windows Search compounds the issue by misrepresenting that the index search is not working.

In my opinion, either Microsoft should remove this old-fangled limitation entirely, or barring that, upon using B: as a HDD letter, the system should default to manual search on that drive, and refuse to accept the index check box.
