Backup utlity and restore do not see the external hard disk.

I can access my external hard disk through my computer.
It comes under f: drive and is in the hard drive category.

However it does not appear as an option when I want to set a back up destination drive.
How do I fix this??

Since you can see the drive in My computer, you may check if it is listed in Disk management.
If it is detected in Disk management, try changing the drive letter and check if it helps to fix the issue.
