After turning on computer or waking it up on start up getting an error message: Sign in: dialog box name error: Windows 7 SP1
Original title: Sign in: dialog box name error: Windows 7 sp1
After turning on my computer or waking it up, when everything is starting up (anyway) I am getting an error message type box that simply states: Sign in x
sign in and user name do not
match (my user name)
ok
It does not tell me what program its with, nor does it bring anything up on the task bar.
It will not close out, I have to just ok it.
Anyone seen this before?

Hi lucywhise,
1.
When did the issue start?
2.
Do you remember making any changes to the computer prior to this issue?
Since you are receiving the error message on startup, you can try performing a clean boot and check if the issue occurs or not.
A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue.
You may refer the following KB article to put the computer in clean boot:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
If your issue is resolved after performing Clean Boot, then follow the steps mentioned in the above KB article to narrow down the exact source.
Also, after resolving the issue, see the section on the clean boot link to how to return your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under “Reset the computer to start as usual.
Hope this information is helpful.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Go to "Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Tab".
- Uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions".
- Click "Apply".
- Reboot your computer.
