All toolbars in IE7/8 are lost - how do I get them back? [Solved]

All toolbars in IE7/8 are lost - how do I get them back?

I installed the upgrade to IE8, but lost ALL the toolbars (File/Edit, address bar, Favorites, Tools,etc.).  All I have when I open IE is the Titlebar (can Close/Restore/Minimize).  I have not hidden them and therefore cannot see them with F11.  Which means
I cannot right click anywhere to select any toolbars.  I uninstalled IE8 upgrade, so I'm back to IE7.  But still the toolbars are nowhere tobe seen.

I am on Win Server 2008 (like Vista 32 bit).  I also have IE8 running fine on another machine with Win Server2008 and no problems.  I have searched for a fix, but cannot seem to find one.  Any help getting toolbars back appreciated.

Hi gfinney,
Thanks for posting.
Ok, I see the other thread you started now.

If we don't have any luck here, you might try your question on this forum.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itprovistaie/threads
They handle IE for IT professionals and may have more insight to the relatoinship between WS2008 and this IE issue.
Are you using IE 7 or 8 at this point?

You can try creating a new profile to see if some corruption is causing the issue.

This is for Vista, but it should work for WS2008.

To create a new user profile

To create a new profile, you must first create a new user account.
When the account is created, a profile will also be created.

1.
Open User Accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking
Control Panel, clicking User Accounts and Family Safety (or clicking
User Accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking
User Accounts.

2.
Click Manage another account.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3.
Click Create a new account.

4.
Type the name you want to give the user account, click an account type, and then click
Create Account.

Hope this helps.
