Address bar with favorites & history in IE8

Hi,
Up untill a few days ago, when I clicked on the drop down arrow of the address bar I would get the choice of any recentl entered URL's followed by a small list of favorites then some selection of URL's under a title of history.
Well the favorites have disapeared
from the address bar and I'm stuffed if I know how to get them back.
Any thoughts on this slightly annoying issue would be greatly appreciated.
