I have a 7 month old Dell 14R inspiron.  Periodically, the pointer disappears and the keyboard/key pad locks up, also twice in the last week the computer starts to hummm, and the keyboard/pad locks up.  Ctr-Alt-Del does not work.
 
I'm running windows 7, using i.e.
9 (I do not have service pack 2 installed). 
 
restarted in safe mode, I have uninstalled all new programs for the last month, recovered system back 30 days, no effect.
 
norton anti-virus is clean, several malware utilities say the system is clean. system just locked up again with that awful humming. HELP
