Cannot connect with RDP after configuring port forward

I have configured my router with port warding with port 3389.
Now when I try to rdp to the pc from outside I get the following error :
remote desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons:
1.
remote access to the server is not enabled
2.
the remote computer is turned off
3.
the remote computer is not available on the network
I checked an all these 3 does not apply to me.
I could RDP the pc (with the local ip) from another pc in my home network but not from outside.
Could anyone help me please?

Is the computer that you want to connect to with Remote Desktop [RDC], ie.
the RDC host, using a static IP on your LAN? If not and the computer is rebooted its possible its LAN IP has changed negating any port forwarding scheme you have configured in your
router.

Also, when connecting make sure you truly test from an outside RDC client and do not use the public IP of your router from a local PC on your LAN.

Lastly are you sure the public IP of your router has not changed? If you have a dynamic IP from your ISP you might want to use a free service like No-IP.com that maps a fully qualified domain name to your public IP.
Call using this fully qualified domain
name.
Many routers support that or a free service like DynDNS for example.
You can also download and install a small program on the RDC host.
The program contacts the No-IP or DynDNS servers on a scheduled basis.
The server then know what your current IP is
and map that to your fully qualified domain name.
