Custom label definition ignored

I am trying to print business cards in MS Word 2007 on standard Avery 8371 (clone) labels.
The size and margins are a little bit off, so I have made a custom label definition under Mailings | Labels | Create and saved the definition with a new name.
But
when I print, I get the standard Avery 8371 label without any customization, no matter what changes I make.
How do I make Word respond to my changes?
